The impeachment trial of Kericho County Governor Erick Mutai entered its second day Thursday at the Senate with Governor Mutai’s legal team casting doubts on the credibility of the voting system that was used at the county assembly to remove him from office. During the trial county assembly’ witnesses were pressed to defend the integrity of the electronic voting process and prove that the two thirds threshold was met. Senators will vote on Friday to decide the fate of Mutai who has pleaded not guilty to accusations of gross violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct.
