Senators urge counties to defy bursary ban and continue supporting learners

In a meeting held in Malindi town with the Kilifi County Assembly’s counterpart committee, Senator Mungatana emphasized the need for counties to prioritize the education needs of their constituents. He expressed concern over the new directive that, starting next year, counties will no longer be allowed to disburse bursaries to learners in secondary schools, colleges, and universities, as these are considered functions of the national government.
