Serikali imetangaza kuwa ina mipango ya kununua ngano kutoka kwa wakulima kupitia halmashauri ya nafaka na mazao NCPB.. Katika mkutano wa wadau wa kilimo, waziri Mutahi Kagwe amesema serikali itanunua magunia elfu 321 za ngano kutoka kwa wakulima wanaotatizika kwa kukosa soko..Wakulima hao wakitakiwa kuwasilisha mazao yao kwa maghala ya NCPB kuanzia kesho jumanne..Kulingana na waziri wakulima watalipwa katika muda wa siku 30 baada ya kuwasilisha ngano kwa NCPB. Mbali na hayo NCPB itatia saini mkataba wa maelewano na wasagaji nafaka ili kuhakikisha ngano inachukuliwa na malipo kutolewa katika muda wa wiki tatu
