Sports federations have been asked to brace themselves for a tough year as funding from the government will be limited to very specific events between July 2024 and July 2025. Sports fund CEO Nuh Ibrahim says the bulk of the sports fund allocation will go to infrastructure development geared towards hosting Afcon 2027 in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Beginning this financial year, federations will now apply for funding through a portal that will allow them to track the process of approval. Nuh was addressing presidents and secretary generals from Olympic federations who are meeting for their annual seminar in Sagana.
