A Consortium of seventy religious and non-governmental organizations have submitted a petition to the clerk of the national assembly demanding the fast-tracking of the family protection bill proposed by Homa Bay town MP Peter Kaluma. The organizations, which brought together Christian and Muslim religious leaders, have criticized the Supreme Court for affirming the right of LGBTQ organizations to be registered and are now calling for the deregistration of all such groups. This comes after the catholic church in Kenya opposed the Vatican's ruling approving blessings for same-sex couples outside masses.
