A Utah man accused of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk surrendered peacefully last week because he feared being shot by police, Washington County Sheriff Nate Brooksby said Wednesday. Tyler Robinson, 22, arrived at the sheriff’s office with his parents and “didn’t want a big SWAT team” at his home, Brooksby said. Robinson has been charged with capital murder; prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty and have disclosed DNA and messaging evidence linking him to the attack.
