Manyatta MP John Mukunji has warned tea farmers from Embu County against selling their produce to private investors who have invaded the market. Mukunji said the traders are denying farmers benefits that accrue selling tea to KTDA, such as free fertilisers and health insurance cover. “Wewe ukienda upande wa kuuzia watu ambao wanakupea cash shilingi 50 unapoteza benefits na utaanza kutuambia tuende harambee ya magonjwa,” said the legislator. The MP urged the farmers to stick with KTDA as they stand to gain immense from government’s effort to find new markets for their produce and championing for better pay.
