Teachers’ unions sign Ksh.33b deal with the gov’t

    Kenyan teachers will start enjoying the benefits of a new collective bargaining agreement signed between their unions and their employer, the teachers service commission. The deal sees teachers getting a salary hike of upto 29.5% for the lowest earning teachers, raising their salary from 23,000 to atleast 29,000 shillings. The cba will cost the government 33.8 billion shillings and will be implemented over a four year period.
