Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen now says it will cost the taxpayer up to 700 million shillings to repair parts of the one-year old expressway damaged by protestors on Wednesday. Murkomen spoke while inspecting the extent of damages, saying that three train stations of the old commuter rail were also vandalised in the demonstraitons. The CS says so far 50 people have been arrested and that organisers of the demonstrations will be held culpable and required to compensate the government for the repair costs it will pay.
