Tumbatu: kisiwa chenye magari machache sana Zanzibar
Takriban miaka sita iliyopita, uwepo wa usafiri wa gari ilikuwa ndoto tu katika kisiwa cha Tumbatu kaskazini mwa kisiwa cha Zanzibar.
Kwa mujibu wa Sensa ya Watu na Makazi ya mwaka 2012, Kisiwa cha Tumbatu kilikuwa na wakazi 12,000 wanaoishi hapa, lakini idadi ya wakazi sasa inakadiriwa kuongezeka na kufikia karibu 25,000.
Na usafiri sasa umekuwa moja ya huduma muhimu zaidi.
Bakari Haji Shekha ndiye mtu wa kwanza kuendesha gari kisiwani Tumbatu, anasema miaka minne iliyopita ilikuwa miujiza kwa wakazi wa Tumbatu kushuhudia lori la kwanza la mizigo ambalo pia lilibeba abiria kufika kisiwani humo.
