Two somali teens arraigned for desecrating Kenyan flag

Two Somali minors who were captured stepping on the Kenyan flag at Nyayo Stadium during a football match have been arraigned in court. The minors face charges of being in the country illegally, damaging a national symbol of unity — the Kenyan flag — and causing disturbance. However, they did not take a plea after Senior Resident Magistrate Rose Gitau ordered that they be taken to the Gigiri children’s protection unit. The magistrate further directed that a social inquiry report be filed in court before the minors can answer to the charges.
