The County Government of Uasin Gishu and the Israel Government have officially kicked off talks over partnerships that will revolve around Agriculture, Energy, Water, Housing, Environment, ICT and Youth Innovation.
The Israel Government is keen to partner and explore investment opportunities as Eldoret prepares to expand and offer more business prospects once it is declared Kenya's fifth city.
A delegation led by the Ambassador to Kenya, Michael Lotem, and hosted by Governor Jonathan Bii, expressed interest to work closely with the city of champions on the mentioned areas.
Governor Bii said Eldoret, once declared a city, will have its boundaries stretched and that the needs will change.
"Every big urban presents several challenges which include waste managment, housing, water among other areas of common interest and that is why we need partnerships," said Bii.
