Uber driver arrested over fatal Nyayo Stadium stabbing

Police have arrested an Uber driver linked to the fatal stabbing of a young man at the Nyayo Stadium roundabout along Mombasa Road. Emmanuel Githua is in custody after detectives placed him at the scene where Kennedy Kibet Ngeno was allegedly stabbed to death. An autopsy conducted at Kenyatta National Hospital has confirmed that the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. Earlier reports indicated Ngeno was stabbed in the lower abdomen before being rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Detectives from the Makadara DCI Division have taken charge of the investigation. The suspect is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, Wednesday, 5th August 2026, as investigators search for answers about what happened that night.
