A section of the United Democratic Alliance party's leadership in Kisumu has defended the move by President William Ruto to nominate opposition politicians to his cabinet. Led by interim UDA chair in the lakeside county George Ayugi, the ruling party sympathizers argued that the formation of a broad-based cabinet with a national image was critical in solving the political impasse the country has experienced in recent times. They however called on the nominated cabinet members to uphold utmost integrity and serve the interest of Kenyans if approved by the National Assembly.
