The ruling United Democratic Alliance party Secretary General Cleophas Malala has warned Kenyans against joining religious organizations that have cultic tendencies saying that the country was currently in a shameful situation due to the Shakahola cult.
Mr Malala said this in Kilifi town, Kilifi County during the UDA grass roots mobilization exercise where he said that freedom of worship was being misused by criminals’ disguised as men of God.
“There is freedom of worship but as a party we believe that when believing in God we should do so while respecting human rights. We have seen churches telling people to fast until they die which is against known religions,” he said.
