Ugandan marathoner Rebecca Cheptegei succumbs to petrol burns in Eldoret

Ugandan Olympic marathoner Rebecca Cheptegei has died, four days after she was doused in petrol and set on fire by her enstranged partner, in the latest attack on a female athlete in the country. 33 year old Cheptegei who competed in the recent Paris Olympics, suffered burns to more than 75% of her body in the Sunday attack. Family of the athlete now blame the police for not acting promptly on reports of threats on her life.
