Ugandan Kabito Hafidh won sh600,000 in Mombasa's inaugural Quran recitation competition.
According to organisers, the competition is part of an effort to promote religion by entrenching Quran in young minds. The county government said that going forward, such competitions will be organised from sub-county level in order to give an opportunity to all Madrassa students. A sum of Sh2.2 million was awarded to all winners.
