Retired president Uhuru Kenyatta has in recent days resurfaced in public, triggering political conversations. In what appears to be the clearest indication that he will be a key factor in the 2027 general elections, Kenyatta on Tuesday called for a special national delegates convention of the Jubilee Party to discuss, among other things, the party’s direction in preparations for the 2027 general election. This move, coupled with several others in the recent past, has put the Jubilee Party leader in sharp focus, 3 years after leaving office, raising speculations as to his increasingly busy political calendar.
