UN Habitat Assembly I Cities urged to improve pedestrian, cycling paths to reduce gas emissions

    Cities and towns are being called upon to improve walking and cycling infrastructure as a means of de-carbonizing the environment. According to a report by UN-HABITAT major cities and towns prioritize cars over people which leads to more gas emissions that are harmful to the environment. Kenya Urban Roads Authority’s urban traffic management and Road safety deputy director Engineer Michael Njonge however says there are plans to ensure more cycling and pedestrian lanes are constructed countrywide.
