Universities seeking up to Ksh.30b ahead of opening

With barely a week before the 2022/2023 first year intakes join institutions of higher learning, the ministry of education is staring at a 30 billion shillings financing gap to run public universities. a document tabled before the national assembly education committee by Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, reveled that the ministry needs additional 18.7 billion shillings to cater for the first year students as the new financing model kicks in and a further 11.1 billion shillings for continuing students.
