Kenya’s Ambassador to Belgium, Prof. Bitange Ndemo, has declined his appointment as Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, citing procedural irregularities. In a statement, Prof. Ndemo said he dissociates himself from what he called an unprocedural process, and confirmed he had formally withdrawn his candidacy. He said he had sought clarity from the university council on whether the Education Cabinet Secretary had given the required concurrence, but due process was not confirmed.
