A new learning assessment conducted by education lobby Usawa Agenda has revealed notable gains in literacy among lower primary learners, but exposing deep concerns in numeracy, sanitation facilities, and inequalities between public, private and refugee schools. Speaking during the Launch of the second Foundational literacy and Numeracy Assessment Report for the year 2025, stakeholders have called for urgent intervention as critical questions emerge about the country’s preparedness to position itself as a STEM-driven economy.
