Women challenged to demand representation in policy-making bodies

Women have been challenged to demand representation in policy-making bodies and leadership positions. This was the message as preparations get underway for theAfrican women Audacity conference under the theme “closing the gender representation gap in nation building”, Dr. Louisa Akaiso a convener of the conference, emphasized the critical role of capacity building in empowering women to take on leadership roles. She stressed progress hinges on equipping women with the skills and opportunities. The African Women Audacity Conference aims to evaluate the progress made in women empowerment over the past 30 years since the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The conference is will take place between 27th and 30th November this year.
