Zimbabwe's re-elected President Emmerson Mnangagwa has welcomed the results of an election which he said was peaceful and demonstrated the country's democracy was "mature". Addressing a press conference at State House in Harare Mnangagwa dismissed criticism of the election which an opposition leader said was a "gigantic fraud". The election commission announced that 80 year old Mnangagwa had won the election with 52.6% of the vote while the opposition Citizens' Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa got 44%.
