The Baobab Tree - Screening: How To Let Go Of The World And Love All The Things Climate Can't Change

A Monthly FREE Live Event at Kanga Studio, Loresho. The Baobab Tree embodies an ancient African tradition of meeting together under the tree to create an open space where transformation is possible.

In How To Let Go Of The World & Love All The Things Climate Can't Change, Oscar Nominated Director Josh Fox (Gasland) continues his deeply personal style, investigating climate change - the greatest threat our world has ever known. This film is a very personal account by Josh Fox who goes on a long journey to meet those being directly impacted by climate. In spite of the grim statistics and destructive aspects of what is unfolding in the places visited, and by definition elsewhere, Fox's point seems to be that by entering deeper into the despair we can find our common humanity, by asking what is it that is so deep within us that no calamity can destroy?

We are delighted to be joined by our special guest, climate scientist and activist, Dr Stella Nyambura Mbau. Dr Stella is the founder and CEO of LOABOWA kind, an initiative that forms coalitions between climate activists and organisations across Africa. She holds a PhD in technology and specialises in climate resilience. She is a member of Polluters Out, a global youth coalition demanding the exclusion of fossil fuel companies from COP negotiations.

Join us on Friday 3rd February for what will undoubtedly prove to be an inspiring evening of conversation and discourse around the brain, the mind, mental health and consciousness, and the current dominant world picture.
