Standoff at the PCEA Nyonjoro church in Lanet

A standoff ensued at the PCEA Nyonjoro Church in Umoja Lanet, Nakuru on Sunday morning, after members and the church leadership clashed over who should take the helm as chairman. One faction locked out the church leadership from accessing the premises for close to two hours. The bone of contention, the church pastor introduced a chairman from a different parish, despite members having held an election on October 12th, where 159 congregants voted to retain the incumbent, Simon Muhia. After tense deliberations, the two factions finally agreed to resolve the matter, allowing the church service to resume.
