Government releases KSh.6 billion to cushion Kenyans against drought

The National government has released six billion shillings over the past month to cushion Kenyans against the ongoing drought. Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki, who co-chaired the 14th Development Partners Forum, says the government will now disburse four billion shillings every month to sustain drought mitigation efforts. More than ten counties are grappling with drought following poor short rains between October and December 2025.
