The Migori County Government, in partnership with Amref, the M-Pesa Foundation, and the Ministry of Health, has officially launched a fistula treatment and awareness campaign aimed at combating obstetric fistula across the region.
The initiative, which began two weeks ago, has already attracted patients from Migori and neighboring counties, including Siaya. The campaign was officially unveiled at the Migori Teaching and Referral Hospital by Ida Odinga, who highlighted that more than 120,000 women in Kenya currently suffer from obstetric fistula, with new cases reported each year.
The program seeks to provide free treatment, raise grassroots awareness, and mobilize community support to eradicate the condition and restore dignity to affected women.
