The African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations, ACCOSCA, is seeking deeper partnerships with governments, regulators and the media as it moves to strengthen the role of SACCOs and cooperative finance across the continent. The organisation, which has attained diplomatic status in Kenya, says this recognition will provide a stronger platform for engagement with policymakers and development partners, while supporting efforts to build cooperative institutions that can operate across borders.
Speaking during a high-level stakeholder forum in Nairobi, ACCOSCA Head of Mission George Ombado says collaboration will remain central to the organisation’s work, to improve public understanding of the cooperative sector.
