The National Defence and Foreign Relations Committee is questioning the economic benefit of setting up a standalone diplomatic mission in the Vatican. The committee, while vetting the ambassadorial nominee for Vatican City, Julius Mbijiwe, directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to furnish the house with a cost-benefit analysis for opening the non-commercial posting at a time when diplomatic missions were facing an acute shortage in resources.
