AmCham-Kenya targets $500 million in investments at business summit

The American Chamber of Commerce-Kenya, AmCham-Kenya, is taking a cautious approach to this year’s AmCham Business Summit, seeking to secure at least 500 million dollars in capital allocation from the summit. That is equivalent to about 64.73 billion shillings, a significant reduction from commitments made at the previous summit two years ago, where deals worth 2 billion dollars, or about 258 billion shillings, were announced. According to the chamber’s CEO, Paul Muthaura, the cautious stance follows the failure of some of the 2024 commitments to materialise. He says investing in the most impactful areas could trigger more commercial propositions, particularly in sectors such as agriculture. Jimmy Mbogoh tells us more.
