Authorities launch drainage clean-up ahead of OND rains

The National Disaster Operations Centre (NDOC), the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, county governments and volunteers from the Bunge la Wananchi initiative have launched an effort to unblock drainage systems and waterways ahead of the October-November-December (OND) rains. The initiative follows the Kenya Meteorological Department’s forecast of an anticipated “Godzilla El Niño” weather phenomenon.
