Awendo Football Academy from Migori County and Plateau Queens from Kisumu County are this year’s Safaricom Chapa Dimba Nyanza regional champions after impressive victories at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu.
Awendo Football Academy claimed the boys’ title in style, thrashing Siaya’s Indomitable Soldiers 4-nil in a one-sided final. Kevin Mukaramoja was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to inspire Awendo to their maiden regional title.
In the girls’ final, defending national champions Plateau Queens produced another commanding display, beating Homa Bay-based Hedso Queens 4-nil. The victory saw Plateau Queens retain the Nyanza regional title for a third consecutive year.
