The family of the late gospel singer Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua, popularly known as Betty Bayo, has written to the Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Mulele and the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, requesting them to launch an inquest into what led to her death. Through her lawyer, Omenke Andeje & Company Advocates, Betty Bayo's mother, Joyce Wairimu Mbugua, states that the family suspects foul play. The family claims that Betty Bayo did not die from leukaemia as claimed.
