Citizen Planet: Kazi Mashinani gives Kisii youth new purpose

Barely two months in, Kazi Mashinani is giving Kisii a new face and its young people a renewed sense of purpose. Armed with brooms, wheelbarrows and water bowsers, thousands are working day and night to clean the county’s urban centres. But this is more than a clean-up drive. Behind every swept street is a young person earning a living, restoring dignity and helping build a cleaner, greener Kisii. Chrispine Otieno spent days and nights following their work.
