Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has urged county governments to embrace the shilling-for-shilling funding model in partnership with REREC to enable electricity access for residents of rural parts of the country
Speaking when he launched the rural electrification programme in Matayos, Busia County, Wandayi commended the Busia County government for raising 154 million shillings through the partnership that has benefitted 1,018 households who are now connected to electricity. The energy cs also warned against vandalism of power infrastructure, warning those involved of dire consequences.
