Doctors threaten strike notice over nurses’ strike

Doctors have threatened to issue a strike notice within seven days if the ongoing nurses’ strike is not resolved. Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union Secretary-General Davji Atellah says doctors can no longer shoulder duties normally performed by nurses as the strike continues to disrupt services in public health facilities. Atellah has warned that the prolonged strike has contributed to a high number of deaths, including neonatal deaths.
