Doctors threaten strike as nurses’ walkout enters 40th day

Doctors are threatening to join nurses in a nationwide strike that entered its 40th day on Monday, further piling pressure on a health system already struggling with disrupted services. Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union Secretary-General Davji Atellah says hospitals cannot function effectively without nurses, warning that doctors could down their tools if the government fails to resolve the standoff within seven days.
