Early-onset cancer — diagnosed in people under 50 — is on the rise, with colorectal cancer among the most concerning. Dr. Kimmie Ng of Harvard Medical School says cases of colon and rectal cancer have been increasing by about 2% annually since the mid-1990s, affecting both men and women worldwide. Many patients are young parents or professionals, making the diagnosis particularly devastating.
