Tonight, a family in Nairobi’s Lucky Summer estate is living with grief and a painful search for answers. Five months ago, we brought you the harrowing story of Alex Owegi Ariango, a 17-year-old Form Three class prefect at Ruthimitu Mixed Secondary School in Dagoretti South, who was brutally stabbed while trying to break up a fight in his classroom. Tonight, we return to that story with devastating news. Alex has died. On September 1, 2026, the teenager succumbed to severe internal medical complications. As Franklin reports, an autopsy has now linked Alex’s death directly to the injuries sustained in that attack. As the family mourns, it is demanding that the suspect accused in the stabbing be rearrested and face the full weight of the law.
