Family disputes police account of officer’s death during Homa Bay fracas

The family of the police officer killed during the Linda Mwananchi fracas in Homa Bay have disputed the official police report that he died in the line of duty. The family of the late police constable Jim Richardson Okundi says the police told them he was fatally hit by a stone on the face as police tackled rowdy youth, but his body bears no such injuries, calling to question the manner in which their kin was killed. They have also questioned how he was found stripped of his clothes, identification and his weapon, while calling on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
