The Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee failed to meet on Thursday for lack of quorum, after seven members boycotted the meeting over disagreements on the agenda.
The development has put FKF in a tight corner, with crucial decisions on federation finances and the start of the 2026-2027 season left unresolved.
Ironically, the federation issued a press release announcing that the Kenya Premier League will kick off on September 19, in accordance with a court order issued on August 28.
However, FKF did not clarify whether there will be a playoff between Kariobangi Sharks and Mombasa United, or which rules will govern the league.
FKF regulations require the National Executive Committee to issue rules and regulations governing the league before the season kicks off.
Another court case at the High Court in Nairobi could further complicate the ongoing FKF drama.
