Businesses in The Gambia say they are suffering heavy losses as prolonged power cuts continue across the country, disrupting daily operations and fuelling public frustration. In recent months, the outages have sparked protests, some of which turned violent. The country's human rights commission says 20 people, including four minors, were arrested and has raised concerns about the authorities' response. The government blames rising electricity demand, equipment failures and climate change.
