In what appears to be response to the confusion and anger over Grade 10 placements, the government has opened a seven day window beginning Tuesday, to allow learners to appeal the placement allocated to them. Making the official announcement on Sunday, basic education PS Julius Bitok said that the revision exercise will take place in the respective schools where the learners sat for grade 9 assessment, as well as county and sub county education offices. The announcement comes amidst mounting complaints over the rationale used in the placement, which has seen some learners placed in day schools far from their home.
