Government to roll out KJET programme next month

The government will roll out the Kenya Jobs for Economic Transformation (KJET) programme next month to support thousands of micro and small enterprises across the country to acquire common-user equipment for value addition and small-scale manufacturing at the local level. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who was briefed on preparations for the programme at his official Karen residence, said clusters of micro and small enterprises selected equitably from every county, constituency and ward will receive support to acquire the equipment. The support will be provided through matching grants covering 50 percent of the non-repayable cost of the equipment, with the funds set to be disbursed in three cohorts in October, November and January.
