IBEC agrees to absorb UHC staff on permanent terms

The Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council has reached a consensus with governors to immediately absorb UHC staff into permanent and pensionable terms, ending a years-long stalemate. The consensus effectively puts to rest the push and pull between governors and the Ministry of Health over the absorption of UHC staff. And as Mary Muoki reports, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has also directed county governments and the Ministry of Health to convene an urgent meeting to resolve the nurses' strike.
