Karen residents question proposed Riruta–Ngong railway project

A section of Karen residents in Nairobi have questioned the proposed Riruta–Ngong Meter Gauge Railway project. The residents are demanding feasibility reports and more details on the project's cost, design and impact on their properties, before further consultations can proceed. Hundreds of kilometers away, residents in Chebinyiny, Bureti Constituency, Kericho County, welcomed the construction of a new railway station, even as they sought assurances on land ownership and compensation.
