KCB RFC have a firm grip on the National Sevens Circuit after a nail-biting championship win over bitter rivals Kabras Sugar at the Embu Sevens. The victory stretched KCB’s lead at the top to 98 points, six points clear of second-placed Kabras. The Bankers now need to finish in the top three at the final event, the Christie Sevens, to be crowned National Sevens champions. KCB have enjoyed a strong season, winning three tournaments — the Prinsloo Sevens, Kababeri Sevens and Embu Sevens. For Kabras to pip KCB to the title, they must win the Christie Sevens and hope KCB fall at the quarterfinal stage. The tournament will take place on the 12th and 13th of September in Nairobi.
