Kenya Airways acting CEO Kamal resigns

Kenya Airways Group Acting CEO Captain George Kamal has resigned from the airline, citing personal reasons. In an announcement to shareholders, the company's board said Habil Waswani, the company secretary and director of legal services and regulatory compliance, has been appointed Acting Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective September 15, 2026. The board has already begun the process of competitively recruiting a substantive holder of the position, which is expected to be completed in the near term.
