Kenya, Burundi open talks over foreign traders’ operations

    Kenya and Burundi have begun talks to resolve a dispute over business operations by Burundian nationals in the country. Even as the talks continue, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Kenyans against targeting or attacking Burundian or other foreign nationals. Meanwhile, the Social Accountability Network, TISA, and the Law Society of Kenya have condemned President William Ruto’s directive on foreign nationals and the reported targeting of foreign small-scale traders.
